East Liverpool Run Away From Drugs 5K


The inaugural Run Away From Drugs 5K was held Saturday May 13, 2017, Downtown East Liverpool, Ohio.  There were 233 community members that started the  race in the parking lot across from East Liverpool City Hospital.  Through collaborative partnerships with East Liverpool City Hospital and the ADAPT Coalition, the high school managed to waive the entrance fee for 50 first time race participants. Team Mojo Foundation, Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board and Heritage Thermal Services also made contributions to the event.  Highlights from the event included Wayne Campbell from Tyler's Light speaking at 9:45 before the race began, a dunk tank, hair braiding, healthy food sampling, music, face painting station, games, music, free health screenings, various health care providers and educational information on the dangers of drugs/alcohol and traffic safety.
